The Origin of Thomas Leigh Lighting
For more than 20 years, Thomas Leigh Lighting has helped define the way the Chippewa Valley shines. What began as a simple goal for Sean and Brittney Malone — to create beautiful, professional outdoor lighting that transforms properties — has grown into the area’s trusted lighting specialist.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with incredible organizations and families throughout the community. Our commercial clients have included Lakeview Floral, Lasker Jewelers, Oakwood Mall, Oakleaf Surgical Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, Oxbow/Lakely, Downtown Eau Claire BID, Mondovi Business Association, and Altoona’s River Prairie Park, among many others. We have also worked with countless homeowners to enhance their properties with custom lighting and seasonal décor.
We remain the only company in the Chippewa Valley dedicated exclusively to exterior lighting. Lighting is not an add-on service — it’s our specialty. That focus allows us to carefully research and select premium materials built to perform and last for years to come.
Our experienced team has completed thousands of Christmas lighting, landscape lighting, and permanent roofline installations, along with ongoing service and maintenance. That hands-on experience has made us true experts in our field.

Meet Sean Malone
The founder & brains behind TLL
Sean is the founder of Thomas Leigh Lighting and oversees every aspect of the company with dedication and precision. His passion for Christmas lighting began in childhood and has grown into a lifelong fascination with lighting design, wiring, and innovation. Often called a “lighting nerd,” Sean fully embraces the title — continually seeking opportunities to learn about emerging technologies and evolving lighting practices to better serve his clients. While Sean does most of the client communications, scheduling, and invoicing, he still try’s to get out in the field as much as possible.
When he’s not designing or installing lighting, Sean enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, serving in ministry, working outdoors, snowshoeing in the winter, and relaxing on the lake during the summer months.
Sawyer Weiss
The Crew Lead
Sawyer has been an integral part of Thomas Leigh Lighting for over ten years. With a deep understanding of the company’s standards, systems, and clients, he truly knows the business like the back of his hand. In fact, he’s the team member you’ll most likely see on-site during your lighting installation — ensuring every detail is handled with precision and care.
His experience, reliability, and familiarity with our clients make him a trusted and steady presence on every project. Sawyer takes pride in delivering professional results while creating a smooth, positive experience from start to finish.
Outside of work, Sawyer enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, traveling with his wife, and spending time outdoors with his children and their two Labrador Retrievers.
